We need to go riding Mike when I am cleared by the doc! I am hoping to be riding off road by April. Let's do some Hood River shuttling then, I wanna practice to the super d course since my plan is to race that first Hood super d.

I hear ya on the costs of racing Mike, it sure hasn't gotten cheaper in the 20 years I have raced. I think overall the OBRA races are better value for me since I don't think USAcycling points mean anything unless you want to go to Nationals which are even more ridiculously expensive. I wish there was a way to tie all the gravity races together into a mega series, the best overall gravity racing wins. kind of like the gravity omnium title they had at Sea Otter. Give em hell this year on the tracks Mike! I am going to do Super d's this year, next year my knee should be in better shape to tackle DH racing again! I am jonesin to race anything right now.

OBRA is cheaper to race Mike. $20 for a racing license compared to $60 for USAcycling. I don't why you say WP is mediocre, I like it better than Ski Bowl for the most part. plus they have a faster lift!

I heard WP was going to have some racing but no official word yet. the Super D is actually in Oakridge on the Alpine trail which is an awesome trail.

our kids here in the states need some inspiration and some serious help Stikman!!I have been racing 20 years and lived in Windham when the WC was at Hunter mountain, I helped cut some of the trails there even! I wish we could get another Devo team like there used to be, we need to make racing better and cheaper for the young guns. the 3 kids racing for junior WC were british and Aussie, where are our jr racers and how can we help them move up the food chain

it is a sad state for US racing because USA cycling has been completely inept at bringing new young riders up to world cup racing. we haven't had a US citizen win a WC in years, while we watch aussie after aussie come up and British riders everywhere and the French breed downhillers. The US has very few young guns coming up through, our best rider Gwin came from motocross. Over in europe they have kids that have only ever raced DH. All I am saying is we seriously need to develope young riders better and I do hope Leigh can inspire some young riders but USA cycling needs to make it more attractive for young kids to go to races.

I think it's great that Leigh is back at worlds but it kinda shows the sad state of american ladies racing if a woman who hasn't raced a WC or Worlds in 9 years can come back and qualify. Although fast is fast and she is still bookin'. I guess Anne Caro would make worlds no problem either.
